Brant,
this type of thing, ie. copying seems normal when ingredients are basically the same. Unfortunately, if you start a manufacturing process and that process goes elsewhere, then..what ta do? China……mmmm, how do we escape it’s tenticles?
My friend opened a factory in China a few years back to produce mobile phone antenna’s for a well know brand. He found out after a year or so that the Chinese factory manager had his brother in the next town copying and making the exact product and selling it to the same market @50% discount.
My friend closed up shop and gave China a miss.
We do know the current madness of economics and labour costs, plus Taiwan now having the world in it’s well setup, wonderfully engineered system. So, why change makers? If there is a change needed, and it’s bound to happen anyway, bring the manufacturing back into the UK perhaps?
Anyhow, what you have done, and exposed here, is a very interesting scenario and experiment.
Best wishes for the future with everything.
Peter
