Essentially, instead of having a line up the back with height markets on, this has a line that wraps around the post, which will make it hilariously easy to set the post to the right height, after you’ve dropped it, rather than having to peer at the back of the post. As the post goes into the frame, the point at which the height line crosses into the frame will move “around” the seat tube.
The post is 7075 butted aluminium tubing, is coming in 31.6 and 27.2mm sizes, and a 400mm length. It’ll have a 5yr guarantee. Pricing and other things to be confirmed.
It’s a really nice solid clamp design that doesn’t highly stress the bolts in opposition like other posts too, and so is less sensitive to set up.
Hey Kenny. A while off yet I think – shipping stuff over from Taiwan takes 30 days on the water (and they’re not finished yet), so you’ll be riding around stood up, or worse, not riding at all. Couple of months probably.
No problem. I have a 27.2mm seatpost on the other bike I can use in the meantime. By the time I beg, borrow or steal to build up the pig, it may well be 2 months anyway. Just prepping the Stiffee for ebay to get the ball rolling.
Is there any update on when ‘the spike’ will be available in shops. Whilst I’m on the topic of waiting for goodies, you may as well tell us when the saddles will be available as well. Rgds CJ

Just bought a blue pig yesterday and looking to build it up with a new seatpost. Any idea when this one will be available?
