Well this will probably be quite interesting
I design bikes according to what sort of riding I’m doing. I’ve been doing ubertech steep and silly stuff around Hebden Bridge for the last year or so, and so that’s how the first three frames we’ve did for Ragley came about.
In a change to all of that, I’ve just entered the Kielder 100, which is the UK’s first 100mile single-loop, solo category race. It’s in about 8 weeks time, and I’m excitedly nervous about the whole thing already.
Really not sure what I’ll be riding yet. I think I’ll be on a Ragley Ti with a few equipment modifications, but I might go big wheels yet. Or rigid. And probably not singlespeed, but not entirely sure.
Last time I did this sort of distance was, according to various internet searches, 2001 – when I did Red Bull Solo 24hr. And did about 16 laps I recall. I’m not promising either, but it’s quite likely I’ll be wearing the very same, semi-legendary, white OF3 skinsuit too – with lashings of Kamillosan nipple cream 🙂
