Ragley Blue Pig incoming
I should have my first (well 2nd actually) sample in a week and a bit. The first sample we saw in Taiwan I’d got a bit carried away with wall thicknesses.
Sample landing has:-
4130 double butted chromoly, including my coolest ever tubeset (externally butted top tube, get in!)
Same funky dropouts and chainstay plate thingy (that I still don’t have a name for).
Sample coming in a burnt orangey sort of colour.
Name is Ragley Blue Pig.
Price circa £250ish.
27.2mm post, 1.125in headset, 68mm BB shell, 135mm rear spacing, 29.8mm seatclamp.
Not sure whether it’s going to have bolt on cable guides or not yet. Perhaps not.
The Blue Pig is a downhill from Heptonstall to the Blue Pig Working Mens Club in Midgehole. Local favourite.

Are you not going for “The Jack Bridge” for the chainstay bridge?

Is it a third more bike than a 456 as the price suggests? I dunno why, but I’d drop 180quid as a throwaway test type thing, but 250quid is more of a think about price. Esp with the mmmBop at a rumoured 275 too. The price of distributors eh.

1) Shell – I’ve been looking at 73’s and even 75.5’s (offset 2.5mm to driveside, no spacers on HT2, if my sums are right). But I think 68’s work fine. With the chainstay design I have a 73mm wouldn’t improve anything really.
2) 1/3rd more bike? Dunno, but you get a good few more details for your money. The mmmbop is just another option. Lighter but alloy. And people love steel 🙂

Still puzzled as to why you’re naming things after ‘Islington North’. Put me right off. 🙂

Burnt orange, pale blue, dark blue, spangly purple; make it any colour you like, but you’ll sell more if you just MAKE IT FRIGGIN’ BLACK. If your graphics were nicer, that would also help. Look at Charge – who needs a good bike when it looks purty?
