Development Issues
It’s odd when you are 6′ odd and ride bikes in a certain way. You think you have it all covered, then some shorty on a 29er points out something you hadn’t really noticed.
The problem is the fix adds 15% to the cost price.shedfire

New cleats work
I fitted some new cleats to my old shoes. New cleats make everything much better. If you have old cleats, fit new ones.
ps: Copperslip is your friend.

Lines and lines and lines and lines
Have been working on a grip pattern for Nukeproof for a while now. Finally got it nailed this morning in a way that would make Mr Lazenby, my old engineering drawing teacher, smile. Lots of centrelines and offsets and stuff. Now just up to the really clever guys at the factory to make it into a grip.

Just got an email in from Shaggy
Just got an email in from Shaggy after he finished Alaska Ultrasport 350 . Sobering reading!
“Hi Guys,
I know some of you already know, but I made it in to McGrath last night. There was a lot of snow this year and much of the trail hadn’t been broken. They say it was the hardest year yet. I was running second at the start but then broke the hose on my camelbac on the second stage, it all poured out down my back and legs. Believe me water freezes pretty quickly at -30. My stealth tights literally saved my ass but I had to ride 5/6 hrs with my legs and saddle frozen up. That lost me a lot of time. Later I spent almost 40hrs alone pushing/lifting my 60lb bike through waist deep snow trying to catch the leaders. On the last day it all came together and I was 2hrs quicker than anyone else on the last stage. I finished 4th. I’ happy with that.I’ll write some more when I get a chance, but I’m feeling a bit brain dead at the moment!”

A top couple of hours out this afternoon …
A top couple of hours out this afternoon with Ed (@greatrock) – http://www.great-rock.co.uk. Up to Slack from Colden then Fast Bit, Punch The Wall, Beechnuts, 360’s Tunnel, Jack Bridge, mmmbop, Bastard Tarmac, something-over-the-top-of-the-crags, Midgets Pit, top of 360’s drop, bottom of Tron and Jack Bridge again.
Muddy (oh yes). Fun – you bet. Cleared mmbop twice (though I thought I hadn’t the first time, we decided it was a “racing line” not missing bits out), and wheelie dropped off the mill pond wall again. Nice!
To Taiwan in a week. Probably won’t get another ride in again, but this one will last in memory for a while.shedfire
